Cyclevit is a project funded by Fondazione Cariplo whose main aim is to propose and develop a process to outline an innovative and sustainable way for the recovery and the reuse of biomass, under the concept of circular economy, for the production of high-value-added products: vitrimers composites. The latter are polymers that at high temperatures can flow like viscoelastic fluids, and at low temperatures behave like classical thermoset polymers. Thanks to that, vitrimerscan be repaired, reshaped, and reprocessed by extrusion, injection, or compression molding and 3D printing, decreasing significantly the cost and environmental impact of the value chain.
