About

Fatemeh Norouzi is a PhD student in Bionanotechnology at the University of Genoa, working with the Smart Materials group at the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT). She obtained her Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Petroleum Engineering – Production and her Master of Science (MSc) in Chemical Engineering with a biomedical focus. Her MSc thesis addressed the fabrication of bio-composite scaffolds using 3D bioprinting for applications in bone tissue engineering.

Currently, her PhD research centers on the development of hydrogel materials composed of synthetic and natural polymers, with the aim of functionalizing them to enhance their efficiency in wastewater treatment applications.
